For the past few weeks I have been unable to find JUST Egg in my local markets. This has happened on occasion in the past. At those times, I assumed the markets didn’t know what type of demand to expect, so they likely stocked small amounts until they could accurately just demand. But, something has been different lately. Not only have the stores been sold out, but EVERY store seems sold out and there was a temporary re-stock using the company’s new cardboard containers that they are starting to use, likely a result of complaints around the original plastic containers.
As I walk through the market and head towards the dairy/eggs section in search of some JUST Egg, I hear Peter, Paul and Mary’s Where Have All the Flowers Gone in my head. Of course, my lyrics are “Where Has All the Just Egg Gone? Long time passing.” After checking the refrigerated section, I head over to the frozen section. Although I prefer to pour and scramble my meal, the frozen patties would suffice as a good backup when the pourable version is out of stock. But, you guessed it, those have been sold out too.
Hey Eat Just…. what’s going on here? Have you been too focused on re-launching your Mayo and Just Ranch for your new Whole Foods rollout?
